Biography

Katharine Hayhoe is an atmospheric scientist with an expertise in climate change issues related to global modeling, regional climate impacts, and science-policy interface. Her areas of expertise include the environmental impacts of energy use, greenhouse gas emissions and control policies, numerical modeling of the earth-atmosphere system, and regional assessments of climate change impacts across a range of sectors including water resources, human health, agriculture and natural ecosystems.

Katharine Hayhoe contributed to the Nobel-Prize-winning United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, prepared high-resolution projections for California’s future climate for an ecological study by researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, and Duke University.
